Hello! Welcome
Python Developer · Barranquilla, Colombia
I've been building scalable APIs and web applications with Django for 10+ years. I currently lead the live streaming team at Roboduels, co-organize Python Barranquilla, write about what I learn on my blog, and run free workshops with Django Girls Colombia.
What I do
Python backend, frontend when needed, and infrastructure to keep everything running. This is what I use day to day.
My main stack. APIs, legacy systems, complex integrations, async tasks.
Real-time in production: collaborative drawing, chats, remote control, streaming.
Frontends when the team needs a fullstack, or internal tooling in Node.
Fault-tolerant deployments on EC2, containers, CI/CD and basic monitoring.
Relational modeling, queries that won't die, caches and queues with Redis.
Facial recognition with CNNs, video pipelines with OpenCV and GStreamer.
Support and desktop software background. Useful for understanding legacy systems.
Graphic design background — visualizations, architectural mockups.
Workshops & talks
Free and open materials. Workshops for people starting with Python and Django.
WebSockets step by step, building a multi-user collaborative whiteboard.
Build your first Django blog from scratch. No prior requirements. In Spanish.
A gentle introduction to CNNs applied to computer vision. With live demo.
Community
Dario explains WebSockets in a way that finally makes sense. I left the workshop with a working project and the drive to keep building.
Working with Dario on the live streaming team means learning something new every week. He has the patience to teach and the rigor for architecture.
As a Django Girls coach, Dario makes people who've never touched code feel capable. That's invaluable.
